My doctoral project is part of the Isolated Strong Optical Magnetic Pulse Spectroscopy (iStOMPS) young independent researcher group. The goal of this interdisciplinary research consortium is to combine the scientific expertise of the Photonics Institute at Vienna University of Technology and the Institute for Theoretical Che mistry at the University of Vienna in order to explore both theoretically and experimentally the impact of electromagnetic radiation's magnetic component on interactions between light and matter. The main focus of my research is to develop accurately yet computationally feasible methods for prediction of magnetic dipole-allowed absorption and emission spectra of molecules of interest as well as for modelling the behavior of these molecules in their excited states when subjected to electric and magnetic fields. |
